A painting programme for all the students titled ‘GLINTZ’ was inaugurated by Her Highness Pooyam Thirunal Gouri Parvathi Bayi on 9th February in the Vidyalaya premises. A huge canvas was erected in the campus for the students to artistically create their vision of the school @75. Celebrating the Golden jubilee anniversary, the school encourages an open and supportive environment for fine arts. Co curricular along with curricular activities is promoted with equal zeal and enthusiasm.

The students carried away by their flights of fancy drew and painted their ideas of a future school with all modern amenities and gadgets. Some even visualised green schools and Gurukkulams. Nearly 3500 students took part in the painting programme organised as a part of Golden Jubilee celebrations.

In her Inaugural Address the Princess stated that real happiness lies in art. She narrated an anecdote of Picasso to highlight this fact. Picasso said that one can hang the picture in any way one wants as long as it gives happiness to the beholder. The Princess urged the students to grow up into worthy citizens bringing credit to the institution and the community. She inaugurated the Painting program by drawing the picture of Lord Ganesha in an easel.

Mrs Lekha Srinivasan was the Guest of Honour. Shri S. Ajayakumar, Principal chaired the function. Vice Principals of both the Shifts Mr Mathew Abraham and Mrs Dr S D Rani were present.

The Art Exhibition along with a Photo Exhibition chronicling the major events of the Vidyalaya’s history will be open till the 11th of this month.
